Teesside University Heart Landscape

Trip the Light Fantastic

The heart of the university is a new public realm space surrounded by the library, the new gold coloured curve building and existing campus buildings. The lighting design captures the vibrancy of the space as the student move between lectures and dwell to catch up with one another or study or relax.

Animated Patterns

The lighting design utilises clusters of GOBO projectors on tall bespoke columns. The tall columns allow for fewer of them to reduce ground clutter, while the clusters of projectors provide a seemingly never ending range of colours and patterns. Benches, ventilation towers and steps are also provided with subtle feature lighting to give the whole space an immediate identity.
